B. What to Bring/Wear
The Classic Classic workshops are lab-based workshops. This means you’ll probably be doing a lot more actual dancing in the workshops than you normally would at a group class at a regular West Coast weekend.
Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in. Be prepared to get on the floor. Bring one or two extra shirts, as you may need them over the course of the day if you get sweaty. Wear the West Coast Swing shoes that you are most comfortable in, as you’ll be in them most of the day.
If you plan to take the Follower’s Styling workshop, please also bring a pair of heels. There is a chance that you will need them for a portion of that workshop. (If heels are a problem for you due to prior injuries or wear/tear - no worries. They are not required wearing.)
Since you’re staying with the same partner for three of the workshops, deodorant and toothbrush/toothpaste, are also nice things to have handy.
If you feel like dressing up a bit for “Gimme the Night”, we won’t discourage you from looking your gorgeous best. There are restrooms at the studio where you can change, if you don’t have time to go home or to your hotel before the dance.
Bring a bottle of water or two and some snacks. We’ll also have water on hand.

C. “The Compulsories”
If you have chosen to participate in “The Compulsories”, please understand that they are not meant to be a stressful thing. Rather, this is your opportunity to see what you have retained from the workshops and what it is you need to work on more. You should look and feel like a different dancer in “The Compulsories”, compared to when you walked in the door earlier in the day. The judges are not looking for perfection, they are looking to see who is actively using what was taught during the day. There is no requirement to dress up for this competition.

D. “Gimme the Night” @ Lori Brizzi’s Millennium Party - YSBD
The dance is open to the public. If you have friends who couldn’t attend the workshops, but want to get their “classic” groove on, invite them to the dance! Try out everything you learned! We have three great DJs lined up and we’d love to pack the place. (General Admission is $15.) The more, the merrier! We’ll announce the winners of the JnJ later in the evening, so be sure to stick around!
